simplify, Simplify, SIMPLIFY ..1 ..2 ..3

Trevor writes:

From this post - MAD 7. It Only Takes 'HALF-A-DOZEN' Things! (extract below) - I am reminded that it is all to easy to fall into the trap of adding unnecessary complexity to ideas, projects, strategies, et al, that should be as simple as ...1 ..2 ..3

Too many people look to make the simple things in life too complex to understand.

Yes, most often it takes only a few things... 1, 2, or 3 things... just a 'half-a-dozen' things to ensure success in most projects.

I am resolving to simplify every idea, project, strategy I have into a 'simple as ..1 ..2 ..3' graphic presentation.

Found: An Event Marketing GURU

Writes Trevor:

Has taken a while to locate someone who is widely quoted in the field of Event Marketing... take a look at www.ruthstevens.com.

Writes Ruth - If You Thought Event Marketing Isn’t Direct Marketing, Think Again: 'I am always surprised at how few direct marketers are taking advantage of one powerful tool in the business-to-business marketing toolkit: the proprietary event, where you have exclusive access to customers and prospects, and you can really get down to delivering your message in a way that cuts through the clutter. These events include opportunities like client conferences, user groups, executive briefings and road shows.'

In another interesting article Ruth wrotes: Measuring the ROI of Your Event - 'Some marketers complain that events are difficult to measure. But, with a little prior planning, events measurement is not only possible, it’s downright simple. The secret lies in setting measurable objectives in advance.'

So, What Makes For A GREAT Event?

Writes Trevor:

When tackling a subject, I like to find out who the gurus are and follow what they do.

So who are the gurus in the Event business? Why? What have they done to stand out from the rest? Let me know.

Wikipedia has a concise introduction to Event management as: 'Event management is the application of the management science of project management to the creation and development of festivals and events.'

'Event Management involves studying the intricacies of the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually executing the modalities of the proposed event.'
